"Hailey is afraid of horses. Her best friend Elaine has one, and Hailey will do anything to hide her fear. But when Hailey meets Freedom, Jani's foal with a mysterious former life, Hailey sees a way of overcoming that fear. Then an accident occurs that has half the town searching for Hailey -- with little Freedom leading the way. The problem is, Freedom has to overcome her own fears -- the ones connected to any old mystery, and a scary man with a sad history that now involves Hailey -- in order to help the girl" --Cover, p. 4.
